On March 14-15, 2022, a workshop was held at TÜBİTAK MAM Gebze Campus with the participation of 27 representatives of 17 companies from 9 provinces to introduce TÜGİP and the Food Innovation Center. Company representatives from Ankara, Aydın, Eskişehir, Giresun, İstanbul, İzmir, Konya, Mersin and Samsun were hosted at TÜBİTAK MAM Gebze Campus.

The event, which started with meeting and networking on March 14, continued with promotions held at TÜBİTAK MAM Conference Hall on March 15. TÜBİTAK MAM’s competencies in Life Sciences and Food Researches, projects carried out, studies licensed and ready for licensing, and IPA-INNOFOOD Project, TÜBİTAK MAM President Advisor, INNOFOOD Project Coordinator, Assoc. Dr. Narrated by Cesarettin Alasalvar.

After the detailed introduction of TÜGİP and the services it will provide, a visit to the Food Innovation Center, where 9 different Pilot Processing Plants are located with nearly 200 machinery and equipment, was made.

The workshop continued with R&D collaboration meetings and evaluations between companies and TÜBİTAK MAM Life Sciences Food Researchers. R&D studies for the production of food additives that are not produced in our country, standardization and domestic production of starter cultures, evaluation of by-products formed during processing, commercialization of the developed products, the need for intermediate staff, the importance of education and the importance of measuring quality parameters in production lines were the prominent issues. Important cooperation potentials focused on R&D were evaluated in the workshop, which was attended by an intense participation.
