Our program, TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Dr. It started with the opening speech of Ahmet Yozgatlıgil.

In this workshop, food supply security strategies in the world and in Turkey and the role of technology – current situation and future approaches were discussed. We had the chance to develop new project ideas with the contributions of valuable participants and experts for “food security”, where we evaluated good practice examples of food supply security R&D and innovation.

For a sustainable future, we hosted speakers and experts from public institutions, universities, private sector, initiatives, umbrella organizations and the food industry related to food supply security at TÜGİP Food Innovation Center, Gebze. We exchanged views on food supply security strategies, the importance of widespread cooperation and data, the role of technology, the current situation and future approaches.

We shared, R&D and innovation good practice examples for food supply security; business models that bring together the agriculture and food ecosystem, alternative natural and harmless pesticide production, artificial intelligence supported fertilization system, retail sector business model application to reduce losses in the supply chain, alternative protein sources and sustainability system studies from farm to fork.

Together with all participants, we carried out activities to identify and prioritize R&D and innovation ideas on the topics of reducing and/or evaluating losses for food supply security, resource efficiency, creating alternative food sources.
